Synopsis:  When Bonnie and Clyde meet, their mutual cravings for excitement and fame immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams.  Their bold and reckless behavior turns the young lovers’ thrilling adventure into a downward spiral, putting themselves and their loved ones in trouble with the law.  Forced to stay on the run from every southern state’s police force, the lovers resort to robbery and murder to survive.  As the infamous duo’s fame grows bigger, their inevitable end draws nearer.

Audition Information

Auditions for Utah Rep’s production, the Utah premiere, of the Frank Wildhorn musical “Bonnie & Clyde” will be held Tuesday, August 20, from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 21, from 6-9 p.m. in room B3 of the SCERA Theater in Orem.

Auditioners should come prepared with a resume and 24 bars of a similar style of Broadway showtune. Accompanist and CD player/MP3 player hookups will be provided. No a cappella singing, please. Headshots are welcome but not required. Auditioners should be prepared to dance/move and may be asked to do some cold reading from sides.

Callbacks will be held Saturday, August 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room B3 room of the SCERA Theater in Orem.

All roles, with the exception of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow are open.

Character Breakdown
BLANCHE BARROW A religious woman who disapproves of the criminal lifestyle. Honorable and righteous. Married to Buck Barrow.

BOB ALCORN The best sharpshooter in Texas. Recruited by Frank Hamer, he helps hunt down Bonnie and Clyde.
Male, 30-45 yrs old
BONNIE PARKER A beautiful girl torn between love and fame. Clyde’s ambitious, stubborn lover.
Female, 18-25 yrs old

CAPTAIN FRANK HAMER A retired Texas Ranger who joins the hunt for Bonnie and Clyde. Recruited by Governor Ferguson.

CLYDE BARROW A charming small-town boy who craves notoriety. Bonnie’s reckless, bold, daring lover.
