Billy Hagee (Austin Bennett) Billy is thrilled to be a part of this production of i love you because and to bring this modern Pride and Prejudice story to life! He is originally from McKinney, Texas, and is currently studying at Brigham Young University in the Music Dance Theatre program. He discovered his love for performing on the stage while in high school and has been doing shows ever since. Some of his favorite roles include Billy Crocker (Anything Goes), Charlie Brown (You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown), Seton Cram (Holiday), Phillips (Casey at the Bat: the Musical), and Yertle the Turtle (Seussical: the Musical). Special thanks to his parents, sisters, and roommates who have always been supportive of his dream to perform, and to the fantastic cast and crew of this wonderful production.
Brandon Roach (Jeff Bennett) Brandon is originally from the far-off-land of Spanish Fork, and is a senior in the BFA Music Dance Theatre program at Brigham Young University. He was most recently seen as Don Atilio/Ensemble in The Phantom of the Opera and as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors at BYU. Brandon toured with the BYU Young Ambassadors to South Africa, and spent two years performing with BYU’s Contemporary Dance Theatre—including a tour to India. He cannot wait to get out and take on the world after graduating this April. Thanks to his parents for their undying love and support, and to his friends who stand by him exactly when they should.
Madeline Weinberger (Marcy Fitzwilliams) Ever since witnessing The Mikado as a 4-year-old attendee, Madeline has had a passion for the arts. She’s relished performing throughout her academic career, including high school, SUU, and BYU. She has recently appeared in the Pygmalion Theatre Company’s Cheat, originating the part of Edie. A few of her other favorite roles have been Kitty Clive in Joyful Noise, Sabine in The Three Musketeers, Nora in Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Fortune Teller in the Utah premiere of Side Show. Madeline has also performed in Hale Center Theatre’s Father of the Bride as Kay Banks, and most recently in 9 to 5: the Musical as Doralee Rhodes. When not in pursuit of her ambitions, Madeline enjoys reading, foreign films, and cooking. From slapstick comedy to historical drama, Madeline is incredibly grateful to have had such fortuity to perform as much as she has. She thanks her many friends and family for their support and inspiration. “If the world laughs in flowers, I intend to be a florist.”
Jordan Hall (Diana Bingley) Jordan is a senior in the Theatrical Arts Department at Utah Valley University and will be graduating this April. Her past credits include Mary in Jekyll & Hyde, Corny Collins Dancer in the Utah premiere of Hairspray, and Princess “Fred” Winnifred in Once Upon a Mattress. She has wanted to play Diana in I Love You Because since she heard “The Actuary Song” when she was in high school, and she would like to thank the Utah Repertory Theater Company for making this dream come true. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their never-ending support and encouragement.
Amanda Crawley (NYC Woman #1) Amanda is so thrilled to be apart of another Utah premiere, i love you because, with such a crazy-talented cast! Home for her is in Chandler, Ariz., and she is 18 years old. She is currently a freshman at Brigham Young University—for the time being—and is pursuing a degree in Musical Theater. She has always loved musical theater but didn’t really start doing shows until her freshman year of high school. Her favorite roles have been Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Marty in Grease, as well as Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest and Helena in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She was last seen in the Utah premiere of Side Show for Utah Repertory Theater Company and loved it! She wants to thank her roommates for still liking her despite being gone so much and her amazing friends and family—she couldn’t do this without them!
Andrew Foree (NYC Man #1) Andy is from Joseph City, Ariz., and is currently pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts Studies at Brigham Young University; he will graduate in June. Recent credits include LeFevre in The Phantom of the Opera at BYU, Bellomy in The Fantasticks at the Covey Center for the Arts, and Shylock in The Merchant of Venice at BYU, for which he was nominated to participate in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition in Los Angeles, Calif.. After graduation, Andy’s plans are to move to either New York or Chicago and pursue his life-long love of being a professional theater artist.
Twyla Spittle (NYC Woman #2) Twyla is currently a Sophomore at BYU studying Music Dance Theatre. From British Columbia, Canada, she started as an Alpine Ski-Racer from age 11 to 16 but quickly fell in love with theater and wants to see where the stage takes her. Some previous roles include Tobias in Sweeney Todd, Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, and Bonnie Lateur in Anything Goes. Enjoy the show!
Johnny Wilson (NYC Man #2) Johnny is a sophomore at BYU where he is completing his BFA in Music Dance Theatre. He is originally from Seattle, Washington. Most recently Johnny was seen in the ensemble in Phantom of the Opera at BYU. Other roles include Ryan in High School Musical, Ugly in Honk!, and Matt in The Fantasticks. In addition to acting, Johnny is trained in dance including ballet, jazz and ballroom, as well as tumbling and choreography. While in Seattle, he received awards for his choreography.
