Meet the Director: Johnny Hebda

This production of Side Show is being directed by musical theater lover Johnny Hebda.  Check out his bio to learn a little more about the man behind the vision.

Johnny Hebda is a graduate of BYU, where he received a BFA in Music Dance Theatre.  Mr. Hebda also graduated from the Florida School of the Arts Acting Conservatory Program where he received an AA in Musical Theatre. Mr. Hebda is an award winning actor and director.  He has performed professionally throughout the US at Regional Theatres, in Film and Commercials (and is a member of SAG), and has directed or performed in more than 70 productions in 17 states. A few of Hebda’s favorite roles have included Mozart in Amadeus, Joseph in Joseph…, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls and Applegate in Damn Yankees.  Most recently Hebda appeared as Frederic in Pirates of Penzance and as Miles Glorious in A Funny Thing Happened…  He is actively involved in the Utah theater community as an actor, director, accompanist, producer and reviewer.  While at BYU, Hebda directed the musical Parade which he received an award from the Theater Department for, as well as served as the Student Director for the MDT Showcase which featured Jenny Jordan-Frogley (performing to sold out audiences). Hebda was also the founder of the Clarksville Children’s Theatre in Tennessee. Hebda had the opportunity of performing in the regional premier of Side Show while in High School and has always wanted to produce and direct this show.  He is very passionate about his work and is excited to premier this show in Utah. www.johnnyhebda.info.
