The spiritually uplifting story of one man’s redemption and the tragedy of feelings left unspoken, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel will be staged Aug. 9-24 by Utah Repertory Theater Company at the Murray Theater.
The first major Utah production in 10 years, Carousel will be performed with a live orchestra.
Carousel is Utah Rep’s fourth production in its inaugural season, and the landmark musical features some of the most powerful music ever written for the stage, including “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “If I Loved You,” “When the Children Are Asleep,” and “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over.”
Utah Rep has been called “Utah’s most exciting up-and-coming theater company” by Broadway World.
Carousel is directed by Utah Rep founder/executive producer Johnny Hebda with by dance sequences staged by William Cooper Howell, company resident choreographer; and Melissa Thorne serving as music director.
Performances are Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 7:30 p.m., including select Saturday matinees at 2 p.m.
